Concerts at St. James Cathedral
Concerts on the 2021 Summer Recital Series begin at 7:00pm and are approximately one hour long with no intermission. Doors open at 6:30pm.
Lifting of COVID-19 Restrictions
Masks continue to be required for those who are not vaccinated. Those who are fully vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus are recommended but not required
to wear a mask in the Cathedral. Social distancing is no longer required. Those who are feeling ill or have a fever are requested to not attend
the concert (refunds will be issued in those instances).
Where to Enter
There are three Cathedral entrances with box offices for concerts:
- The
Marion Street/Terry Avenue entrance at the northeast corner of the Cathedral is (nearest to O'Dea parking). This entrance is
handicapped accessible.
The restrooms are located at this entrance.
- The Columbia Street/Courtyard entrance is on the south side of the Cathedral near the Chapel. Handicapped accessible via a ramp.
- The 9th Avenue entrance is on the west side of the Cathedral. This entrance is NOT handicapped accessible.
Tickets and Seating
You will receive a ticket by email after your purchase on WhenNow.com. Please bring a printed or electronic copy (on smartphone or tablet)
of your ticket to the concert. You may check in at any entrance.
Concert seating is first come, first served. Please note that some seats, indicated by signs, are reserved for Friends of Cathedral Music donors.
If you or a member of your party has a specific seating need (wheelchair, aisle seat for walker, etc.), please contact us in advance at
musicoffice@stjames-cathedral.org or 206-382-4874, and we will make sure that you are accommodated.
Parking Information
- Free parking is available in the O'Dea High School parking lot, entrances on Marion and Columbia Streets between Terry and Boren Avenues.
- Paid street parking is enforced until 8:00pm.
- Handicapped parking is available on the west side of Terry Avenue, between Marion and Columbia.
- The First Hill Medical Pavilion garage at 1124 Columbia St. (at the corner of Boren and Columbia, across from the O'Dea lot) is open until midnight, with $5.00 evening parking.
- A 24-hour garage, the First Hill Plaza Garage, located at 1300 Summit Avenue (between Madison and Spring), offers $3.00 parking for up to 10 hours on evenings after 5:00pm and weekends.
Public Transportation
St. James Cathedral is within a few blocks of a number of bus lines and the First Hill Streetcar. The #60 bus stops directly in front on 9th Ave.
